 EO GSEA National Competition

 

     On 6th December 2014, an event organized by Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus called EO GSEA National

Competition were held at the university itself. The event were held from 8:00 a.m. and ended at 3:00 p.m.. The event

were held at Lecture Theatre 21 that is behind the Grand Hall of the Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. I’ve attended

the event and from what I can see is that only half of the numbers of people from the total that should attend the

event attended.

 

     There are many benefits that I’ve gain from attending the

event. Firstly, I’ve filled my day with a good thing that can

be taken from the event. We can learn how they conduct their

businesses and how they maintain it. Next, I find some opportunities

if one day I want to open my own business by learning from the candidates

of the award. I also gained some advice from the candidates itself and from

the successful entrepreneur. Lastly, I’ve learnt how to overcome my feel of fear

and increased my confidence in talking in front of the people by learning how the

candidates and the successful entrepreneur talks to us.

 

     In the day itself, we were not only listening to the talk, but there is

also a comedian that were brought in so that we the students will not

feel bored during the event. Besides from the five contestant that

participating in the award, the comedian also is one of the best part in the event. It was a respectable choice to bring him

in so that he can make the listeners feel more fun and not tiresome. Besides that, there were also a talk from four

different successful entrepreneur. The way they started to introduce themselves were so eye-catching and excellent.

When they started to talk about their own business, it seems hard for me and they have to face through so many

challenges. There is the time when they were on the top and when they were on the bottom.

 

In conclusion, there are so many benefits that can be get from attending the event. The award itself give so many

benefits to the young entrepreneur so that they know there are people who take note to them.

 

 

Individual, Group & PDW

 

            For the individual assignment, we have to discuss the challenges faced by managers in an organisation and provide relevant recommendations to overcome the problems. When I was doing this assignment, I’ve taken my dad as my aspiration to do the assginment. I see him how and what are challenges that need to be faced by him. Somerimes I also give him the recommendations to overcome the problems. There will be a problems in a business and if there is no problems, then that is the problems.

 

            Next, for the group assigments, we are required to do a scrap book. We need to choose a company to complete the assignment and the

company that we have choosen is my dad’s company that is SilverKris Collection. We need to be creative to fully complete the requirement

to get the highest marks. We have successfully found and get the best materials to complete the assignment. We’ve also gain

some of useful things that are related to the manger’s roles and responsibilties

in the organisation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

            Following, on 24th January 2015, one more event were held at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus and this event were

exclusively made for the Business School from semester 2 and semester 3 students. It was held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

There are various numbers of games and activities that were ready for us. We have started the event with a selection on the

group and my group name is “AMG GT”. Then, there is an ice breaking session among the student. For the first game after the

ice breaking, we had a game that we need to have a high IQ thinking to get it done and

the game I give the name of “The Rope Challenge”. We need to get out from the rope

but we cannot cut or untie the rope. There is only one way to solve this that is only at

the hand and doesn’t need to make a huge or big move. Next, we had a games that

I think requires a small fingers to get it done fast. I called this games

“Red and Green Beans”. The games was easy, we just need to seperates between

those two colors and that’s why I think it requires a smal hand to get it done faster.

The game were attractive but I think it doesn’t siut well for the boys to play with it.

The third game is that we need to form the longest line to win the game and it is

called “Longest Line”. We need to use our personal things to form the line and at that time

only one from 6 of the members in the group bring their bags along. But it is a fun

game to play.The next game is dodgeball. In this game, I think the refree is a buyer

and only sides the oppenents. She always wanted to find the mistakes that my

groups have done and the little mistakes only she takes it seriously. I

really didn’t have so much fun while playing this games. The last game

is treassure hunt. It was the best game among the all. Althought it requires

us to run from one place to another, I’ve found this game is the best. My

group is the first group to arrived at the final checkpoint, but what can I say,

we forgot to take picture at the previous checkpoint and this make us turn to

number four. But nevermind because the main purpose of the event is to make

the student feel more energize than before and to find new experience.

 

     In conlusion, through out the third semester,the subject of the module has becoming more harder than before

and I think for this module, for now I still can carry it until we have done our final examination. This module have give me the oppurtunities to learn more about how to manage a business and why is it important.
